Not that I have any particular love of Blu-Ray or dislike of HD-DVD, I just really wanted this crappy format war to be over. I was actually going to post here about how I refused to support either side until one of them became the victor but now it seems I don't have to. Paramount is still supporting HD-DVD for about 18 months or something but it's all coming down now which is nice.

I read about this just yesterday and yes it is good news. I'm not exactly much of a backer for either format, but Bluray does have larger capacities which is always nice. Selling the PS3's with built in Bluray drives was probably a wise choice, Microsoft kind of lost out on this by not including an HD-DVD drive in their 360. Also, I'm not generally a big fan of products endorsed by Microsoft.
So at least hopefully we'll start seeing greater HD adoption in the near future.
